As their family’s primary earner, Chris was working hard to find a new role in a difficult job market when she was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma breast cancer in October. Chris’s tumor was large and aggressive, and within three weeks she underwent a double mastectomy to remove it. Testing revealed both extremely high growth and recurrence rates, so she is undergoing three months of chemotherapy and six weeks of daily radiation after that.
